14th Sept 2022
Cambond attended a fantastic two days at the Minority Supplier Development Conference Awards event last week on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th September, hosted by the amazing MSDUK team. The event was a great chance for the Cambond team to network to meet possible collaborators, and to gain insights on how ethnic minority businesses can work together as a community to promote diversity in the UK.
The Knowledge Forum on Thursday 8th presented the attendees experienced multiple workshops to gain insights on various topics, including supplier diversity and scaling businesses. With an incredible fireside chat with Janice Bryant Howroyd (Founder and CEO of the ActOne Group) and Rondu Vincent (Director of Global Supplier Diversity from Bristol-Myers Squibb), discussing the actions the community needs to take as a whole to bring supplier diversity to the globe.
Another incredible event was the MSDUK Innovation Challenge 2022 Finals, where 9 finalists pitched their businesses to a panel of judges. With 3 different categories to compete in (Environmental, Economic and Social), 3 companies pitched in each category with their amazing innovations. It was a delight to learn about these companies and their goals, leading to us meeting the founders for possible collaboration. Congratulations to all of the finalists for their brilliant presentations!
Friday 9th Sept was the Business Show, for companies to present their businesses to others through exhibition stands. Attendees were free to walk around and discover so many amazing companies brought together by MSDUK. Cambond received a great amount of attention, even Mayank Shah – Founder and CEO of MSDUK – made an announcement telling attendees to visit our stand! It was a brilliant day to make contacts to collaborate with in order for Cambond to grow.
We would once again like to give a huge thanks to Mayank Shah and the rest of the MSDUK team for an incredible event. MSDUK has been amazing in their own growth as well as bringing so many ethnic minority businesses together, and they deserve to prosper much further.
